Thank You

Thank you for your support of visual arts by enrolling your child in Smart with Art's "Back to the Drawing Board" program.  Carl and I had a wonderful time working with your children and seeing them blossom as they learned new skills.  It's been a pleasure presenting art experiences to these children!  We received many nice "thank yous" from very polite children.

Today, the student artists put forth some good effort to finish-up projects. The primary focus was to complete the one point perspective painting started last week.  Other students finished their pandas. Students also worked on more one point perspective/vanishing point exercises with shapes and letters that vanished into a point.

Much thanks goes out again to our wonderful volunteer, Kristi, who helped us with many of the administrative jobs that needed to be done during class time this session.  Thank you Kristi!

Look for new and different experiences being offered  for the 2012-2013 school year.  Stay tuned for information in your PTSA newsletter.

Meanwhile, you can check out other offerings at the Smart with Art website:  www.smartwithart.net

'Smart with Art' provides enriching experiences that connect history, cultures, artists, techniques, and materials. Art is a journey, not a destination.

Have a safe summer and take advantage of art experiences, exhibitions, and museums in your community and wherever you travel!

Best Regards,
-Carl Clausen and Erin Subcleff

One Point Perspective

Today we learned about drawing a picture with one point perspective.

We learned about horizon lines and vanishing points to make a piece of art that look 3D.

This is a tough concept to grasp and the class did a wonderful job!

Next week is our last class of the Spring Session.

We will finish our one point perspectives and our Panda art.  Students who are done will create another project with vanishing points.
